About Women's Space

The Women's Space site (formerly "The Margins") is a site created by women in the hopes of offering support, information, and encouragement to women and girls and to men and boys who would like to be women's allies as well. Our perspective is distinctively and unapologetically woman-centered. Our specific goals are as follows:

1. To provide links and references to the thought, ideas and work of woman-centered leaders;

2. To provide ongoing analysis and commentary on news, culture, history, society, cultural trends, media and current events from a distinctively woman-centered perspective;

3. To establish and enlarge radical feminist/lesbian separatist discursive space on the internet;

4. To give voice and a presence to radical feminist women on the internet and in the world.

The content of our site reflects these goals and distinctives. This does not mean that we do not find value in exploring all sorts of ideas and theories including those which oppose our own. To the contrary, we value and seek lively debate and invite the same vigorous scrutiny of our own ideas and work that we apply to others' ideas and work. The information and ideas provided here are those which in our view offer the best hopes for a new kind of world in which women's lives, ideas, priorities and work are valued equally with those of men, a world in which subordination of all kinds is rejected in favor of respect and mutuality. We long for a world in which power is shared and dominance over human beings, nature and the earth are rejected, a world characterized by love, respect, peace and justice for all people.

The amassing and posting of links and information here must necessarily be an ongoing, never-ending effort and we invite your participation and feedback. Whatever or whomever you believe we've left out, please let us know! You can e-mail me, Cheryl, at cheryllindseyseelhoff@g-mail.com. If you are a woman, please also feel free to join our Women's Space internet community which can be found here.
